A warning before you hop on one of those Lime scooters found across the Bay Area; they could catch on fire.
The company released a statement saying the manufacturer is recalling some of the scooters because of an issue with the battery.
They say the defect could result in the battery smoldering, or in some cases, catching fire.
Lime did say the issue impacts less than 1 percent of their scooter fleet.
They say all affected scooters have been removed from circulation.
And so far, no one has reported getting hurt by this defect.
