The New York City lawyer who gained notoriety after video surfaced of his racist rant towards employees speaking Spanish at a Manhattan restaurant has issued an apology.
Video surfaced last week showing Aaron Schlossberg threatening to call immigration, saying “This is America. Your staff should be speaking English, OK?”
On Tuesday, Schlossberg took to Twitter to issue his apology, saying in part “What the video did not convey is the real me. I am not racist… my sincerest apologies to anyone and everyone I hurt.”
In response to the incident, a Mariachi band performed songs including “La Cucaracha” in front of his apartment last Friday.
The manager of the Fresh Kitchen says he was upset by the remarks but refused to respond.
“He’s a customer, so I had to stay professional and ask him to leave,” the manager told the Daily News.
