SANTA ROSA (KRON)—A local law firm’s bookkeeper was arrested Wednesday on suspicion of embezzling $375,000 over two years by the Santa Rosa Police Department.
Forty-five-year-old Rebecca Susan Evenich was arrested with a $300,000 bail in Sonoma County Jail.
Evenich is scheduled for arraignment on Friday afternoon in Sonoma County Superior Court.
The law firm told police that they thought Evenich was embezzling $200,000, Sgt. Marcus Sprague said.
Police investigated the case and found she had embezzled $300,000 in two years, Sprague said.
Evenich is accused of taking money the money by using the law firms accounts to pay her bills, Sprague said.
