SAN JOSE (KRON) — Law enforcement, along with the Santa Clara County District Attorney’s Officer, are searching for a man accused of identity theft.

Cynthia Sumida, the spokesperson for the District Attorney’s Office, says that the man in the picture used an elderly woman’s identity and got a credit card in her name.

According to Sumida, the man then went into a Home Depot store in San Jose and purchased merchandise. The card was also used at a Shell Gas station and DD’s Discounts in late 2014.

The victim is an elderly woman with Alzheimer’s Disease. Her daughter noticed the purchases and notified the San Jose Police Department in January.

Since then police and the DA’s office have been trying to identify the man, but haven’t been able to do that.

They are hoping that somebody will recognize the man and notify the district attorney’s office.

They can be reached at 408-792-2851.
