A Southwest flight heading to Las Vegas from Oakland International Airport had to turn around on Monday morning after smoke was reported on the flight. 

Flight 2541 returned safely and officials determined there was no smoke in the cockpit. 

The airlines reported that the plane experienced a mechanical issued during the flight. 

It remains unknown if there actually was smoke in the cabin during the flight. 

The flight left Oakland around 8:45 a.m. and was scheduled to land in Las Vegas around 9:49 a.m.

At this time, no injuries have been reported.
