Why are you nominating this educator?: I want to nominate this educator, because she is dedicated, kind, knowledgable, caring, and puts the needs of her students first. Her classroom is warm and inviting. Students are challenged in a setting that allows them to be the best they can be, in a fun yet structured environment. We have been blessed to have this teacher twice for two of our children. She goes above and beyond, and sets up her students for future success. She gets the class excited about learning, as well as excited about ways to help others. This summer she will be going on the annual “Wheelchair Foundation” trip to South America, where she passes out wheelchairs to needy children. This is just one tangible way she makes a difference in our school community and around the world. Our children have benefited educationally, socially, and emotionally after a year in Miss DeFreitas’ class. We are grateful for her caring heart for her students, and that is why we nominate her for “Teacher of the Week”!
