OAKLAND (KRON) — All four Alameda County sheriff’s deputies have been cleared of any criminal and administrative wrongdoing in regards to the Oakland police sexual misconduct investigation, according to Sgt. J.D. Nelson.
The Alameda County Sheriff’s office had confirmed in May that it was looking into a connection to the scandal in May.
It is a story first broken by KRON4.
Several Richmond police officers were being investigated by their department on Tuesday for alleged sexual relations with an underage girl who is also connected to a similar investigation within the Oakland Police Department.
The Richmond Police Department started an investigation last week after several officers came forward claiming to having connections with the “young lady at the center of the Oakland police investigation,” Capt. Bisa French said.
The case comes after three Oakland police officers were put on leave and two other officers resigned after they were accused of having sexual relations with a police dispatcher’s underage daughter.
French did not say how many Richmond police officers are being investigated or if they are suspended.
