JURUPA VALLEY, Calif. (KRON) – A 5-week-old kitten may have used one if it’s nine lives after it survived a hawk’s talons.
A Jurupa Valley resident said she saw a small white cat being carried away by the predatory hawk when the hawk lost its grip and dropped the kitten near a neighbor’s basketball hoop.
The neighbor rushed over a scooped up the lucky kitty before the hawk could come back to reclaim its prey.
The kitten is now being treated by Riverside County Animal Services in Jurupa Valley.
The little kitty had a wound in its chest area, but is expected to make a full recovery.
