SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — July Fourth fireworks are exciting for people to experience, but the explosive sounds and scorching displays can be terrifying to pets.

Offering tips on how to keep your pets safe as booming celebrations light up the night is James Baybayan from the San Francisco Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals who stopped by the KRON 4 studio Saturday morning.

Accompanied by Elfie, a 7-month-old puppy (available for adoption), Baybayan, a behavioral and training associate from the SPCA, discussed the importance protecting your animals during this particularly loud holiday.
