MORGAN HILL (KRON)—A Morgan Hill K-9 officer helped apprehend a suspected home burglar Sunday night.

A woman reported to police that she saw a man come into her home on Mendecino Way around 9:15 p.m.

Officers asked her if anyone had permission to enter her home and she told them no one did.

Police went into the house and ordered anyone inside to leave.

A man and a woman came to the door a few minutes later.

The suspects have been identified as Gilbert Pimental, 33, from Milpitas and Rachel Delgadillo, 35, of Morgan Hill.

Police questioned the two suspects and later arrested them for burglary.

Both suspects told police about a third suspect hiding inside the home because he was wanted by police.

A K-9 officer named Bosco and another Morgan Hill police officer went back to the home.

The K-9 searched the home and discovered someone was inside the attic. The dog barked and police asked for the suspect to come out.

No one responded and Bosco and his handler went into the attic. The two started searching and found Teofilo Ponce, 35, of Santa Clara hiding in a corner.

Ponce resisted arrest, according to police.

He kicked Bosco three times in the head to try to get away, but Bosco was able to grab Ponce’s ankle.

Ponce was taken into custody with minor injuries.

All three suspects were booked into the Santa Clara County Jail.

Anyone with information about this case is asked to call Detective Fernando Del Moral of the Morgan Hill Police Department, 669-253-4964 or the anonymous tip line at 408-947-STOP (7867).
