INGLEWOOD, Calif. (AP) – Inglewood police say a man found fatally shot in the Los Angeles suburb during the weekend was an Uber driver.

A police statement issued Monday says the victim, 27-year-old Andre Jamal Bayyan of Los Angeles, was working as an Uber driver at the time of the incident.

Police responded to telephone calls of shots fired on West 109th Street shortly before 4 a.m. Sunday. Bayyan had been struck by gunfire while sitting inside a vehicle and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say anyone with information should contact the department.
