The infamous statue of Cristiano Ronaldo that gained worldwide notoriety after it was first installed last year at Madeira Airport has been replaced.
Pictures of the original bust shared on social media were quick to point out that the statue did not look like the Portugal and Real Madrid forward.
The artist of the original statue, Emanuel Santos, spent three weeks creating the bust, which was revealed in March 2017, the same time the airport was renamed in Ronaldo’s honor, according to Press Association Sport.

Seems like not everyone can be pleased, though.
An online petition has been started calling “for the immediate return of Cristiano Ronaldo’s bust to Madeira airport,” claiming the original statue is “an attraction for our island” and that the new bust wasn’t acceptable.
