AVON, Ind. (WISH) – Avon police arrested a mother Wednesday after they say she was driving drunk to pick up her 8-year-old son from school.

According to the police report, staff at Pine Tree Elementary School in Avon called police after they encountered Arneshi Fitzpatrick in the school parking lot. When an officer arrived, the report states Fitzpatrick failed sobriety tests and provided a breath sample of .191-percent alcohol content, which is more than double the legal limit.

Documents show Fitzpatrick is now in the Hendricks County Jail and facing drunk driving charges. Her son was released to a family member.
