SANTA CRUZ (KRON) — A Santa Cruz nightclub was shut down and four arrests were made after an investigation revealed alleged illegal activity.
Police received several complaints over the past month of an an illegal nightclub located in the 300 block of Coral Street, according to police.
Investigators obtained a search warrant after they had visited the club and observed several employees allegedly selling alcohol without a permit and allowing patrons to use and distribute controlled substances.
Investigators seized large amounts of alcohol, cocaine, methamphetamine, marijuana and a stolen firearm when they executed the search warrant on Saturday around 11:55 p.m., according to police.
About 40 patrons were inside the illegal nightclub during the search and seizure. The club was charging a door fee and illegally selling beer, wine, champagne and Jell-O shots.
A .38-caliber revolver was found in a bedroom inside the building and was determined to have been stolen out of Shasta County.
The nightclub’s operator and three employees were arrested during the operation.
Robert Cardiasmenos, 62, of Capitola was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to sell alcoholic beverages without a license, failure to obtain worker’s compensation and possession of a stolen firearm.
Stephanie Ross, 52, Patrick Eze, 51, and Amber Hagle, 33, all of Santa Cruz, were all arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to sell alcohol without a license.Bay City News contributed to this report.
