HORRIBLE: Dog dragged behind truck for a mile

**WARNING: The video contains images that may be sensitive to some people**

Jim Horak posted a video to his Facebook page Thursday that shows some disturbingly graphic images. Images animals lovers never want to see. It started when Horack was leaving his grandparents home off County Road 95 in Baldwin County, Alabama when he saw a truck drive by with a dog running behind it. Horak tells News 5 he “took off after it blowing my horn and waving my arms. The guy didn’t stop though.”  He says he wasn’t the only one that witnessed the incident but was the only one that tried to stop the man. “There were other cars that saw the incident but they did nothing so while I was blowing my horn and frantically waving out the window at the guy he didn’t think to stop and see what the issue was,” Horak writes to WKRG.

Eventually, Horak says, the man realized the dog was being dragged and pulled over on Comstock Road. That’s when Horak caught video of the man getting out of his truck. Horak says the guy didn’t seem to be bothered by the incident, “I would [have] stopped immediately and rushed the dog to the emergency clinic but as seen in [the] video the guy was in no rush and showed no emotion over what happened.” The video shows at least two more dogs in the bed of the truck.

It’s not known how long the dog was running before Horak spotted them, but he says the dog was dragged for at least a mile.

The owners of the dog contacted News 5 anonymously Sunday evening. They say, “the dog was taken immediately to the vet and was like a child to the family.”

The saddening video has been viewed hundreds of times.

News 5 has reached out to Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office for more information.
