SAN MATEO COUNTY (BCN) – Investigators have released a sketch of a man who allegedly stole a smartphone from an occupied home Saturday in the unincorporated area of

Woodside in San Mateo County, San Mateo County sheriff’s deputies said.

Around 7:44 p.m., the suspect entered the home in the 4000 block of Jefferson Avenue by breaking the glass to a rear sliding glass door.

The residents, a couple in their 60s, were in bed during the incident, according to sheriff’s deputies.

The woman got out of bed and confronted the suspect, who shined a flashlight in her face. The woman threatened to release her dog on the suspect, and he fled the home the same way he got in, sheriff’s deputies said.

Neither victim was injured.

Deputies responded and searched the area but could not find the suspect, according to sheriff’s deputies.
