Police arrested a homeless man on Saturday after he kidnapped a San Jose man then forced him to drive to KFC.

Police say around 3 a.m., 21-year-old  Alberto Ulloa-Avila allegedly opened the car door of the 31-year-old victim, who was looking for parking in the area of 14th and Santa Clara Streets.

According to police, Ulloa-Avila got in the car and demanded the driver take him anywhere he wanted to go, threatening to physically harm him if he did not comply. 

The victim then drove to the Mountain View KFC located on El Camino Real and Castro Street. 

Police say once the victim parked, Ulloa-Avila attempted to rob him. 

The victim was able to get out of his car and run away. 

Police say Ulloa-Avila got into the driver’s seat and started to drive away, but turned around and came back.

Police say Ulloa-Avila began to chase the victim across El Camino Real until authorities responded to detain him. 

According to authorities, Ulloa-Avila and the victim did not know each other. 

Ulloa-Avila was arrested for kidnapping, making criminal threats, vehicle theft, violating a protective order, and driving on a suspended license.
