SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — A 43-year-old man that was riding a scooter in San Francisco’s South of Market neighborhood is now suffering life-threatening injuries after a hit-and-run incident Friday morning.

On Friday around 2:25 a.m., on Eighth and Howard streets the man was riding a scooter through the intersection when he was side struck by the vehicle. The vehicle fled the scene after the hitting the man on the scooter, police said.

The man was taken to the hospital suffering from a compound fracture and a head wound, according to police.

The suspect vehicle was described as a dark colored SUV. A description of the driver was not immediately available.
