SANTA ROSA (KRON) — A Santa Rosa man was arrested on outstanding warrants after allegedly leading the California Highway Patrol on a high-speed chase in western Marin County Tuesday, according to the CHP.
An officer was patrolling northbound Nicasio Valley Road at 10:08 a.m. when he saw a black SUV speeding in the other direction.
The officer turned around and attempted to stop the SUV but the driver accelerated, according to the CHP.
The driver, later identified as Jason Brown, 43, briefly lost control of the vehicle near a set of reversing turns.
Brown got back on Nicasio Valley Road and headed south toward Lucas Valley Road before continuing toward Sir Francis Drake Boulevard at nearly 100 mph, according to the CHP.
Brown drove west on Sir Francis Drake Boulevard toward the unincorporated town of Woodacre before pulling over to the right hand shoulder, where he was ordered out of the vehicle at gunpoint and taken into custody without incident.
Further investigation revealed that Brown had a no-bail warrant out of Sonoma County for probation violations. He also arrested on suspicion of evading a peace officer in a reckless manner, according to the CHP.
