A high school coach was arrested last Wednesday in Oakland for trying to meet up and have sex with a minor.
According to the Oakland Police Department, last Tuesday Andy Michael Miranda, 34 of San Francisco, contacted an undercover officer who was posing as a 14-year-old on a social media app.
Authorities say Miranda engaged in sexually suggestive conversation. The following day, he attempted to meet at an arranged location with the undercover officer to engage in sexual activity.
Miranda was arrested on Thursday and subsequently charged with multiple sex crimes against children.
The San Francisco Unified School District confirmed that he was a volunteer coach at Mission High School in January, but is no longer coaching in any capacity with the district.
