ALUM ROCK PARK (KRON) — High fire danger is causing officials to close Alum Rock Park in San Jose all day Wednesday.
Dangerously high temperatures and windy conditions paired with the unrelenting drought have caused high-risk fire probabilities across the Bay Area.
Wildfires have burned throughout the Bay, and are difficult to contain as we’ve seen with blazes like the Berryessa Wildfire that burned closed to 7,000 acres. The Berryessa fire was caused by a vehicle accident that sparked a patch of dry roadside grass.
Officials have not released when they plan on re-opening the park.
