CHICAGO (KRON) —  Due a labeling mishap, about 500 cases of Heinz HomeStyle Bistro Au Jus Gravy are being recalled voluntarily, according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.

Many of the cans could be mislabeled as ‘Heinz Pork Gravy.’ This may not seem like the end of the world, but it could be if you have a milk or soy allergy.

Unlike the  HomeStyle Bistro Au Jus Gravy, the Pork Gravy is not labeled as containing milk and soy. This means people buying the product labeled as Pork Gravy are actually getting the Au Jus Gravy, and would unknowingly consume milk and soy.

People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to milk and/or soy run the risk of having a serious, maybe even life-threatening allergic reactions.

With that said, its a good thing the mistake was caught before arguably the most gravy-filled day of the year, Thanksgiving.

So far there have been no consumer complaints of illness related to this issue.
