CORTE MADERA (KRON) — A coastal flood warning had been issued for parts of the North Bay Monday morning until 7 a.m., according to National Weather Service officials.

Heavy overnight rain flooded major roadways all over the Bay Area, but mostly in the North Bay.

The warning is in effect for low-lying areas on the coast, like Sausalito and Mill Valley.

Standing water is dangerous for drivers and makes it easy for cars to spin out.

California Highway Patrol officials advise drivers to leave early, slow down and keep a safe distance between themselves and the car ahead.

The majority of the rain for Monday is over, but expect some scattered showers throughout the day. Another storm should hit early Tuesday morning.
