LIVERMORE (KRON) — Public health officials are warning residents in Alameda County of measles exposure at a Livermore restaurant.

The Alameda County Health Department is warning that individuals who visited Sauced BBQ and Spirits Restaurant in Livermore on March 23 between 8 p.m. and 11 p.m. may have been exposed to the disease.

Officials say those who are not immune to the measles and visited the restaurant are at risk for contracting the disease.

People who visited the restaurant between 8 p.m. and 11 p.m. on March 23 should contact their health provider and the county health department if they are:

  • Pregnant
  • Have a weakened immune system
  • An infant 12 months of age or younger
  • Known to be unvaccinated against measles or
  • A health care worker

If you are experiencing symptoms like fever, cough, runny nose, red eyes, and a rash, call your doctor right away.

The restaurant is located at 2300 First St #120, Livermore, CA 94550.

Restaurant officials sent the following statement:

“This afternoon we were contacted by Department of Public Health that they would be informing the public that we had a guest in our Livermore restaurant on March 23 who had been exposed to the measles virus.

In following the guidelines given by the Department of Public Health, we have contacted all of our staff and there is currently no risk in our restaurant.

However, if you were in our Livermore location on Saturday, March 23 between the hours of 7:30 p.m. and 12:30 a.m. and think you may have been exposed, please contact the Alameda County Public Health Department or a physician.”

This case in Alameda County is one of many seen in the Bay Area this month.

Earlier this week, health officials warned residents and visitors of measles exposure at several stores and restaurants in Santa Clara County.

An international traveler who visited Santa Clara County tested positive for the disease, officials said.
