SAN JOSE (KRON) — A hazmat crew reported to a hazardous materials incident in downtown San Jose on Tuesday morning which prompted an evacuation and street closures. The material has since been found to be harmless, according to the San Jose Fire Department.
Firefighters were dispatched just after 10:30 a.m. to a building at at 152 N. Third St., near St. James Park, Fire Capt. Christopher Salcido said.
The sixth floor of the building was evacuated, Salcido said. Crews shut down Third Street during the investigation.
There were no reports of injuries.
