HAYWARD (KRON) — Sgt. Scott Lunger was 48 years old and a 15-year veteran of the Hayward police force.
The fallen officer was well-respected by his fellow officers. The slain officer lived in Brentwood and leaves behind two college-aged daughters, his ex-wife, and other family, including his father and brother who also live in the East Bay.RELATED: Hayward police sergeant killed during traffic stop
They are described as devastated. Hayward police say Lunger was apart of their S.W.A.T. team and their gang unit.
He is being called an accomplished officer, who was made a police sergeant in 2009.
