Hawk shot by arrow captured in Pennsylvania, recovering

YORK, Pa. (WHTM) – A red-tailed hawk with an arrow through its chest is recovering at an animal rehabilitation center.

The Pennsylvania Game Commission says it captured the hawk over the weekend and the arrow has been removed.

The hawk was first spotted about a month ago near Rocky Ridge Park.

Wildlife Conservation Officer Shawn Musser told WHTM it’s unlikely the hawk was accidentally shot.

He added that finding the person responsible would be nearly impossible because arrows often don’t include anything that’s traceable.
