The Cow Palace Board of Directors voted on Tuesday to approve a statement that discontinues all future gun shows at the venue beginning January 1, 2020.
Not only has the San Mateo County Board of Supervisors voted in favor of banning gun shows there, but there is also a Senate Bill going through committees in Sacramento to ban all gun and ammunition sales there.
While the Cow Palace is a state-owned venue, it looks as though the Board of Directors want to vote on this action before state legislators approve a Senate Bill on the ban.
The Cow Palace hosts five gun shows a year and has been hosting the largest gun show on the West Coast for over 30 years.
But recently, these shows have drawn major opposition from the community and there have even been protests held at the Cow Palace.
