(KRON) — Grocery store chain Safeway announced on Wednesday it is going to buy Andronico’s.

Andronico’s has a total of five stores in the Bay Area and is known for stocking more upscale items.

Andronico’s owner said it approached Safeway about a possible deal earlier this year.

The stores will be rebranded. They will go by the name Safeway Community Markets.

The transition is expected to happen sometime next month, and no jobs will be lost as part of the deal.
