SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — Fans of the Vortex roller coaster at Great America have little time remaining to the go on the ride as the park announced that it will close.
Great America will have it’s first floorless coaster in their park history in 2017. The Patriot will take riders to a 91-foot height and have them drop into a 360-degree loop at 45 miles per hour. It is expected to open in 2017.
Vortex is the shortest stand-up roller coaster in the United States and second oldest. It is expected to close in less than a month.
