LAFAYETTE (KRON) — A one-alarm grass fire is now under control off Highway 24 near Lafayette, CalFire reported early Wednesday morning.
The fire climbed Dear Hill Road, threatening one home. The home’s owner says CalFire officials came in evacuated he and his son, and fought to keep the flames at bay.
According to officials, no injuries were reported in the fire.
A cell phone tower was in the line of the fire, but fire officials were able to contain the flames before they reached the tower.
Crews remain on scene to extinguish any hot-spots to avoid future flare-ups.
