LOS ANGELES (KRON) — 11 of Google’s self-driving cars have been involved in accidents since the company started experimenting with the technology six years ago.
All of the 11 accidents have been classified as minor, and according to Google, none of the accidents were caused by its cars.
Google’s driver-less cars have traveled more than 1.7 million miles since testing started.
The company released the number of accidents after the Associated Press reported Monday that California has received four collision reports involving self-driving cars since it began requiring them last September. Three of those involved Google’s cars.
Some say that more transparency is needed to reassure people that the technology is safe.
