A GoFundMe page that’s raised over $13 million to fund President Trump’s border wall has some competition.
Veteran Brian Kolfage created the fundraiser called “We The People Will Fund The Wall” in hopes of raising $1 billion dollars to do just that.
According to Yahoo, critics of President Trump’s proposed border wall devised a plan to help immigrants on the other side.
“Ladders to Get Over Trump’s Wall” has raised nearly $100,000 to provide ladders to immigrants hoping to come to the United States.
The group’s goal is $100 million dollars, and its mission goes beyond its name.
“This GoFundMe isn’t really about ladders at all,” the page reads. “It’s about lifting people up.”
Should its rival campaign meet it’s $1 billion goal, organizers want to make sure ladders are ready to send over.
If neither campaign reaches its goal, the funds raised from “Ladders to Get Over Trump’s Wall” will go to the Refugee and Immigrant Center for Education and Legal Services (RAICES).
RAICES is a nonprofit that provides free and low-cost legal services to undocumented immigrants.
