A teenage girl was stabbed Friday night after a fight broke out during a high school football game in Santa Rosa.

Montgomery High School was playing Maria Carrillo High School when the victim confronted at least two other girls and tried to fight them, authorities said.

During the melee, others jumped in until the fight was separated. 

Investigators said the victim, who started the fight, walked away but a short time later realized that she had been stabbed during the incident. 

She was transported to Memorial Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. 

Detectives from the Gang Crimes Team and Violent Crimes Investigation Team have taken over the ongoing investigation.

The Sonoma County Alliance “Take back our Community” fund is offering a reward of up to $2,500 with information leading to the arrest and prosecution of the subject/subjects responsible for this incident.
