The San Francisco Giants scored a big win over the rival Los Angeles Dodgers Tuesday night as Farhan Zaidi is reportedly leaving L.A. to take over as the Giants’ president of baseball operations.

The hire comes a little more than a month after the Giants relieved Bobby Evans of his duties as general manager. It is not yet known who will assume the GM post, but according to multiple reports, it is believed Zaidi will be able to play a chief role in filling that position.

Zaidi has spent the last four seasons as an executive in the Dodgers front office, where he helped construct a roster that made it to the World Series the last two years. Prior to his work in LA, he worked with the Oakland A’s.

Zaidi will now oversee a Giants team that has failed to make the playoffs the last two seasons and finished with one of the worst records in baseball.
