SAN JOSE (KRON) — Officials are in San Jose have capped a gas leak in north San Jose.
The fire department was called just before 11:00 a.m. about a breach in a gas main near the intersection of East Tasman Drive and Zanker Rd.
That’s just about a quarter-mile south of Hwy 237 and about a mile west of Hwy 880.
Officials with PG & E say that a 3rd party hit the distribution line which wasn’t marked.
Construction crews are supposed to call 811 before digging to get all gas lines marked.
Crews arrived around 11:30 a.m. and by 1 p.m. the line was capped.
One building has been evacuated, but according to officials, there weren’t a lot of people in the building.
They have since be allowed back inside.
