LAFAYETTE (KRON) — A natural gas leak in Lafayette shut down Woodview Drive between Woodview Court and Saint Mary’s Road Monday morning, according to Contra Costa fire officials.
PG&E officials say a third party work crew struck one of the utility’s half-inch plastic service lines in the 3300 block of Woodview Court, causing the leak.
PG&E shut off natural gas to the line at about 11:00 a.m., and crews have been working on repairs.
The leak is affecting only one customer, according to PG&E officials.
The utility company is urging homeowners and contractors to call its 811 line, a free service designed to ensure safe practices during any type of digging.
