FRESNO, Calif. (AP) – Fresno County will hold a burial service for eight babies who have been found abandoned or left unidentified.

The ceremony will be held at the Garden of Innocence at Mt. View Cemetery in Fresno on Saturday morning for babies Anthony-Jon, Arlen, Brenna, Eli, Maisie, Oliver, Paisley and William.

Fresno County Deputy Coroner Kelly Matlock helped establish the burial program in the local area a few years ago. Officials say the Garden of Innocence ensures that children found abandoned or left unidentified are given a loving goodbye.

Local leaders and members of the public are invited to attend the service. Officials say donors to the program will send prayers and dedicate poems to each child who is buried.
