FREMONT (KRON) — An East Bay campus is on lockdown while police search the surrounding neighborhood for a suspect considered to be armed and dangerous, authorities say.
According to district officials, Cabrillo Elementary School placed on under lockdown Wednesday at around noon as a precaution due to police activity in the neighborhood. Police said a SWAT team has been called out.
Fremont police say that the suspect is barricaded inside of a residence not far from the school, which is located San Pedro Drive.
“Students may be picked up at the gate at San Pedro & Balboa. Students who ride the bus will be picked up and dropped off as normal,” district officials said.
