SAN CARLOS (BCN) — Sheriff’s deputies arrested four people Monday morning in connection with an alleged burglary at a San Carlos store.
At 10:30 a.m., deputies responded to a report of a theft at TJ Maxx, located at 1251 Industrial Road, according to sheriff’s officials.
A passing sheriff’s sergeant witnessed four individuals getting into a vehicle in the store’s parking lot.
Deputies caught up with the suspect vehicle, stopped it and detained the occupants, sheriff’s officials said.
Inside their vehicle, deputies found a large amount of stolen clothing and merchandise from other stores.
Additionally, the store’s employee identified the four suspects as the same people who committed the theft, according to sheriff’s officials.
Deputies arrested San Jose residents Manuel Garcia, 26, and Bertha Garcia, 35, as well as Redwood City residents Jose Hilario, 18, and Alejandro Plancarte, 18, on suspicion of burglary, possession of stolen property, and conspiracy, sheriff’s officials said.
Manuel Garcia was also arrested for having an outstanding warrant for domestic violence out of San Jose.
Hilario was also arrested on suspicion of providing false information to a peace officer, according to sheriff’s officials.
The group was booked into the Maguire Correctional Facility in Redwood City, sheriff’s officials said.
