OAKLAND (KRON) — Former Golden State Warrior Greg Ballard has died at age 61, the team tweeted on Wednesday.
“We are deeply saddened by the passing of former Warrior Greg Ballard. Our heart goes out to his family, friends & loved ones,” the Warriors tweeted.
Ballard played in the NBA for 11 years as a power forward and later became a scout.
He died after battling prostate cancer.
Ballard played for the University of Oregon and was drafted in 1977 by the Washington Wizards in the first round.
