Florida man had 84 bags of THC-laced gummy candy in car

ST, PETERSBURG, Fla. (WFLA) – A St. Petersburg man faces multiple drug charges after police say the smell of pot led them to his car, and the discovery of 84 bags of gummy candies laced with THC.

Investigators say they smelled pot coming from a vehicle driven by Christopher Adam Calloway, age 23. They pulled him over around 11:16 p.m. Tuesday at 5th Ave. N and I-275 in St. Pete.

Officers searched Calloway’s vehicle after smelling the pot. Officers say they found 22.9 grams of hash oil, 2,320 grams of pot and 84 bags of gummy candies laced with THC. Officers said the amount of pot Calloway had was more than allowed for personal use.

Detectives say the bags of THC-laced gummy bears had labels on them describing the amount of THC along with the brand name Zelda. Calloway also had empty ziplock bags and two scales with him that are commonly used to weigh and distribute narcotics, according to an arrest affidavit.

Calloway was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana with intent to sell, possession of THC with intent to sell, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of THC. Calloway was released from the Pinellas County Jail after posting bond in the amount of $17,300.
