(KRON) Saturday’s heavy snowfall and rain caused a nightmare for many people living near Tahoe.
Flood waters of the Yuba River flowed into homes and resorts in Nevada County. The Rainbow Lodge basement in Soda Springs was a muddy mess.
Randy Kure the General Manager of the Rainbow Lodge tells KRON4 News “I wasn’t scared it was more oh my goodness what are we going to do now.” “The hillside was just bleeding gushers of water.”
The 120 year old Lodge is safe, just what’s on the inside is damp and full of mud.
Debbie Martin who lives in the area said of all the rain “it’s melting the snow off all the hills, and it’s coming down.”
