SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — Emergency response crews are practicing search and rescue techniques Wednesday morning on Treasure Island for San Francisco’s Fleet Week.
KRON4’s Will Tran spent the morning with the San Francisco Fire Department as they provided tactical Urban Search and Rescue training to the military.
Thousands of Sailors, Marines and members of the U.S. Coast are in the city for the Fleet Week festivities.
The skills learned during the Urban Search and Rescue training were used in response to the 2011 Japan Earthquake.
