The Wallflowers, Kool and the Gang, the Plain White Ts, Foreigner, Shelia E, Orpheus, Sol Horizon and Matt Jaffe provide live musical entertainment.

Fireworks are planned each night at 9:30 p.m. over the lagoon at the Fairgrounds at 10 Avenue of the Flags near the Marin County Civic Center in San Rafael, and there are more than 20 carnival rides for adults and kids.

Baby crawl races and a baby stroller decoration and parade, photography and fine arts competitions, Etch-a-Sketch art contest, parasol decorating, personal time capsules, treasure chest decorating and a fun walk/run around the lagoon are part of the dozens of events and attractions through Monday.

One-day tickets at the gate are $20 for ages 13 to 64 and $15 for kids 4 to 12 and for seniors 65 and up.

Only service animals are allowed in the fair and alcohol, bottles, cans and glass containers, narcotics, laser pointers, weapons, large ice chests, skateboards, gang colors and drones are not allowed.

Take a free shuttle bus from 1600 Los Gamos Drive in San Rafael to the fair. Buses run 4 p.m. to 11 p.m. Thursday and Friday and from 10:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. over the three-day weekend.

Parking at the shuttle is $5. Marin Transit and Golden Gate Transit also take riders to the nearby Marin County Civic Center.

Valet bicycle parking is available at the Main Gate and carpool and motorcycle parking is $10.

The fair closes each night at 11 p.m.
