SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — Three of the San Francisco police officers accused of sending racist and homophobic texts are expected to be fired from their jobs.
Thursday, Police Chief Greg Suhr has confirmed that the three police officers under investigation for allegedly sending racist and homophobic text messages will be suspended with a recommendation to the police commission that they be fired.
The department is expected to start proceedings to fire at least three of the 13 police officers under investigation in the scandal by Friday afternoon.
The names of the officers have not been released by police, but attorneys representing them have identified them as Noel Schwab; Rain Daugherty; and Michael Celis.
The texts included slurs against blacks, Mexicans, Filipinos and gays. They also feature officers and civilians using the phrase “White power” repeatedly.
Suhr confirms there will be more suspensions to come soon.
