SAN JOSE (KRON) — Firefighters are battling a 2-alarm structure fire in San Jose, according to the San Jose Fire Department.

Firefighters first received reports of the fire in the 6300 block of El Paseo Drive at 6:11 a.m.

The occupants of the home are a father and son.  According to reporters on the scene, the fire started from a bathroom ceiling fan as the son was getting ready for work.  The son woke up his father who attempted to contain the flames with a fire extinguisher.

The fire had grown too quickly, and consumed most of the roof.

Firefighters are not ruling this fire suspicious.

Crews are working to put out the blaze.
