LIVERMORE (KRON) — Calfire and the Alameda County Fire Department are battling a 50 acre brush fire just east of Livermore.
The fire started around 8:15 p.m near site 300 of Lawrence Livermore Laboratories.
CalFire sent out this tweet just after 9 p.m.

According to Brianna Bishop, spokesperson for Lawrence Livermore Labs, the fire started after heavy winds dropped a power line.
Within the hour, CalFire announced that the fire was 5% contained, but the fire had grown to 200 acres.

KRON 4 weathercaster Diane Tuazon says there are wind gusts of up to 20 miles per hour in that area. They are not expected to die down until the early morning hours.
