Firefighters battling a fire in Bay Point

BAY POINT (KRON) — Firefighters are battling a two-alarm vegetation fire in Bay Point, a fire official said.

So far, the fire has covered 35 acres. At about 2:25 p.m. it was contained, according to Contra Costa County Fire.


Firefighters responded to a report of a fire around 1:15 p.m. in the 4700 block of Evora Road, Fire Inspector Steve Aubert said.

Aubert said no structures were damaged in the fire and no injuries were reported.

Firefighters from Cal Fire and the East Contra Costa Fire Protection District also responded to help battle the blaze, Aubert said.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
