Two Shasta County residents evacuated because of the Carr Fire received a very special note from a firefighter.
Jeff and Susan Grant packed as many of their belongings as they could before leaving their home in Shasta.
The couple stayed at a nearby hotel for 10 days until Sunday when they finally were allowed back home.
While they were away, they had a neighbor check on their home, and he found a note on their front door.
That message was from a firefighter.
He had watered their garden and flowers while they were away.
“Firefighter, named Ray B, stayed at our house for a couple of days, watering our plants and taking care of our baby turkey,” Jeff said.
“There are no words to thank them. God bless them all and stay safe,” Susan added.
Desperate to personally thank this firefighter, the Grants also shared the note on Facebook.
The note was reposted thousands of times but no reply from the firefighter.
Ray B remains a mystery on Monday night, but his kindness lives on.
